Full event info Mudskipper Canadian Championship, in Milton for 2026, held around mid-August each year. Milton is approximately half an hour west of Toronto, on the eastern side of Georgian Bay.
The Canadian Championship swimrun event is a 20 km race made up of two laps of a 10 km course.
This event used to be held in Parry Sound, an area that boasts many beautiful beaches, parks and trails. It is ideally situated just off highway 400, in the Southernmost part of Northern Ontario.
This charming waterfront town is within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and home to 6,500 residents in the town itself, and over 14,000 in the immediate area.

How to get there
First you have to get to Ontario. If you are coming from overseas, the nearest international airport is Toronto International Airport, (Pearson).
Billy Bishop Toronto is the regional airport.
John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport in Hamilton is a base for low-cost carriers that fly domestic and transatlantic routes.
You can drive to Milton by car from Toronto, with easy access from Highway 400.
Bus service is provided by Ontario Northland, and rail service by VIA Rail.
Where to stay
There is no specific accommodation recommended by Mudskipper, but there is plenty of other choice in the area at AirBnB, Booking.com and other accommodation websites.

There are 2 race distances:
The 10 km event includes 2.1 km of swimming over 3 legs, and 7.9 km of running, also over 3 legs.
The 20 km event is simply another lap of the 10 km course, so just double all the figures!

There are restrooms, changing rooms and showers near the Start/Finish area.

There are no energy stations around the course, but there is food available at the finish area.
The cut-off is 12:00 midday.
Weather
Held in mid-August, the weather is mild but a little unpredictable. The water temperature is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit, according to race organiser Canaqua. Wetsuits are not compulsory, but proper trail shoes are strongly recommended for this race.
There is always a chance of cold or wet weather, so you should take suitable clothing for every eventuality!
